MSSAC offers comprehensive support across four interconnected service areas. Each can be accessed individually or as part of an end-to-end workflow.
Sequencing approaches
We provide experimental design guidance, library preparation, sequencing, and analysis for a broad range of approaches. Our sequencing platform is available to any research lab — whatever your biological question, if it involves sequencing, we can help. We have particular depth in infectious disease-centric methods not widely available elsewhere:
| Transposon insertion sequencing & derivatives |
|---|
| • Tn-Seq (standard) | • CRISPRi-TnSeq |
| • in vivo Tn-Seq | • CRISPRi-Seq |
| • Droplet-TnSeq | • dualCRISPRi |
| RNA-based & transcriptomic approaches |
|---|
| • RNA-Seq (bulk) | • Term-Seq |
| • dualRNA-Seq | • 5′/3′-RNA-Seq |
| • Single-cell RNA-Seq (scRNA-Seq) | • tRNA-Seq |
| Genomic & other sequencing approaches |
|---|
| • Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) | • Amplicon Sequencing |
| • ChIP-Seq | |
These approaches enable high-throughput, genome-wide functional analyses to investigate microbial pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, antimicrobial resistance, and community dynamics.
Sample preparation
We offer flexible sample preparation options to suit your experimental needs and budget:
- Full library preparation for most approaches listed above, including Tn-Seq, RNA-Seq, scRNA-Seq, and WGS.
- Partial support — you perform upstream steps; we finalize and QC your libraries before sequencing.
- Shared runs — submit a single sample to share a flow cell with other users, reducing cost without compromising data quality.
- Dedicated runs — reserve an entire flow cell for time-sensitive or high-throughput projects.
All samples undergo rigorous quality and quantity control using Agilent TapeStation, qPCR, NanoDrop, and Qubit before sequencing. Not sure which option is right for you? Just ask.
Bioinformatics
Generating sequencing data is only half the story. MSSAC can provide comprehensive computational analysis through Aerobio, our custom-built automated genomics (cloud) platform, specifically optimized for microbial genomics workflows.
With Aerobio you can:
- Have analyses run for you — submit your data and receive processed results and interpretations.
- Run your own analyses — after a brief training session, use Aerobio independently without needing to be a bioinformatics expert.
- Customize analyses — work with our team to tailor pipelines to your specific research question.
Aerobio supports all sequencing approaches listed above and is continuously updated as methods evolve.
Pricing
Pricing varies by service type and user category (BCH/HMS internal, external academic, or industry). A low-output sequencing run starts at $1,346 for internal users; sample preparation from $150/sample; bioinformatics analysis from $1,000. Contact us for a current quote tailored to your project.
