About us

Boston Children’s Hospital supports a comprehensive and integrated portfolio of systems that enable high-quality, compliant clinical research across the institution. These platforms support the full study lifecycle: from start-up and conduct through monitoring, billing, and close-out. Please refer to our letter to sponsors for the required use of the systems.

OnCore

OnCore is the primary clinical trial management system at Boston Children’s Hospital. It supports protocol and subject management, coverage analysis, budgeting, invoicing, and financial oversight to ensure accurate and compliant study operations.

Electronic Regulatory & Subject Source

Veeva SiteVault is a 21 CFR Part 11–compliant electronic regulatory binder and electronic subject source system required for all interventional trials at BCH. The platform also enables secure remote monitoring for external sponsors and CROs. Please refer to our sponsor letter outlining system requirements.

Epic

Boston Children’s IT, in partnership with Clinical Research Operations (CRO), manages the Epic Research module to support compliant research workflows. This includes patient-study association, encounter and procedure linkage for accurate billing, and participant-facing tools such as MyChart research invitations, eConsent, and reporting.

Additional Research Administration Systems

BCH leverages a range of complementary systems to support clinical research operations, including eRA (CHeRP), Vestigo for investigational drug management, and multiple electronic data capture platforms.
