Drs. Arnett and Doan at Boston Children's Hospital are seeking undergraduate interns to support an NIMH-funded investigation of rare genetic contributions to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in families. Intern responsibilities will include enrolling participants and collecting saliva samples at our Peabody location, processing genetic samples at our lab in Boston, and presenting cases at team meetings. Interns will work either part-time with a primary location at the Peabody site or full-time with hours split between the Peabody and Boston sites, with scheduling flexibility to accommodate class requirements. In addition to supporting our research, interns have the opportunity to pursue an independent research project and to collaborate with our team on original research publications. We offer educational opportunities, including research seminars, journal clubs, grand rounds, and professional development coaching. Our ideal candidate will:
- Be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student
- Have reliable transportation to get to/from the Boston Children's Peabody satellite clinic
- Be a strong communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills
- Be interested in a clinical or research career in genetics, medicine, psychology, or a similar field
