Rebekah Mannix is a senior physician in pediatrics, emergency medicine at Boston Children's Hospital. She's a professor of pediatrics and professor of emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mannix is also a primary investigator of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Lab and co-investigator of the Neurologic Function across the Lifespan: A LONGitudinal, Translational Study for Former National Football League Players (NFL-LONG Study). Dr. Mannix’s research interest is in traumatic brain injury. Her clinical research interest is the identification of new serum and imaging biomarkers for diagnosing and managing mild traumatic brain injury.

William P. Meehan is director of the Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention and director of research for the Brain Injury Center at Boston Children’s Hospital. He is a principal investigator of the Neurologic Function across the Lifespan: A LONGitudinal, Translational Study for Former National Football League Players (NFL-LONG Study), as well as a primary investigator of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Lab. He graduated from Harvard Medical School where he is currently a professor of pediatrics and orthopedics. Dr. Meehan conducts both clinical and scientific research in the area of sports injuries and concussive brain injury. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Center for the Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology, the National Football League Players Association, the National Football League, and the National Hockey League Alumni Association. He's the 2012 winner of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine’s award for best overall research. He has multiple medical and scientific publications, is author of the book “Kids, Sports, and Concussion: A Guide for Coaches and Parents and Concussions”, and is co-editor of the book “Head and Neck Injuries in Young Athletes”.

Jianhua Qiu is a primary investigator of the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Lab at Boston Children's Hospital. He's also an instructor of pediatrics of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Qiu's research focuses on traumatic brain injury and stroke. Dr. Qiu and his colleagues are investigating the mechanisms of injury-related cognitive dysfunction and neurodegeneration and developing biomarkers to diagnose severity of injury and predict prognosis. His lab is also interested in exploring approaches to treating traumatic brain injury and stroke.

Fernanda Guilhaume Correa, PhD
Fernanda Guilhaume Correa is a postdoctoral fellow in the division of emergency medicine and department of pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital. She's also the postdoctoral fellow in the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Lab. Dr. Correa graduated from Virginia Tech with a PhD in translational biology, medicine, and health in 2022. She was awarded a Trainee Diversity Award in 2022 from the National Neurotrauma Society (NNS). Dr. Correa’s research interests include identifying strategies and technologies to address and improve TBI. She's particularly interested in discovering translational approaches for blast-induced TBI (bTBI) at the cellular and molecular levels of injury.

Jin Lu, PhD
Jin Lu obtained her PhD from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. She’s currently working as the Deputy Chief Pharmacist in Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She has dedicated her efforts to providing clinical pharmacy services for patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and engaged in research on the mechanisms of drug treatment for AD. Her interest lies in exploring reliable biomarkers for evaluating the efficacy of drugs and identifying new targets for the treatment of neurological diseases, and these research achievements have enabled her to secure a national-level Funding and a National -level patent. She is officially dispatched to work as a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital (2023-2024), under the mentorship of Dr. Rebekah Mannix, conducting research on the mechanisms and clinical drug treatment of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
