Executive Committee
The Executive Committee carries out the mission of the Postdoctoral Association to serve and advocate for all postdocs at Boston Children’s Hospital. They work together to oversee the activities of the PDA, manage the collective PDA budget, and support all the endeavors of the PDA committees. We strive to create a supportive and enriching environment that enhances the postdoc experience at Boston Children's Hospital.

Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy Committee is co-chaired by the PDA Co-Presidents, who represent postdocs at Boston Children’s Hospital at a higher level, and ensure that all voices are heard and concerns are addressed. The committee also oversees distribution of an annual survey to gather feedback from postdocs, providing valuable insights into their experiences and identifying areas for improvement. The Advocacy Committee aims to drive positive change and enhance the overall experience of postdocs at the Boston Children's Hospital.

Career Development Committee
The Career Development Committee offers valuable support to postdocs on their journey toward successful careers. The committee works together to organize workshops, seminars, and events to provide valuable career advice, resources, and skill development opportunities. They aim to develop resources and organize seminars to assist postdocs in seeking careers in different fields, including industry, government, academia, and beyond. Members of the Career Development Committee are given the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills, build professional connections throughout the greater Boston area, and ultimately help fellow postdocs achieve their career aspirations.

Mentoring Committee
The Mentoring Committee aims to help postdocs to develop mentoring skill sets, and explore the world of mentorship within the Boston Children's Hospital postdoc community and beyond. The committee works together to identify mentoring opportunities for postdocs to become mentors to other young scientists, and connecting mentors with mentees through events that promote knowledge exchange and personal growth. The mentoring committee also organizes opportunities for postdocs to grow professionally via mentoring initiatives with academic and industry professionals. Members have the opportunity to expand their mentorship networks, gain leadership and mentorship skills, as well as make a significant and positive influence on the development of young scientists and the future of research.

Networking and Outreach Committee
The goal of the Networking and Outreach Committee is to create connections between postdocs at the Boston Children's Hospital and beyond. The committee works together to plan engaging activities to bring together the postdoc community. They strive to create an environment where postdocs can thrive both personally and professionally, share experiences, collaborate on projects, and establish connections. This is accomplished through networking events, social gatherings, and scientific mixers to facilitate meaningful postdoc interactions. Members of the Networking and Outreach Committee have the opportunity to gain leadership experience, strengthen their network, and plan initiatives to positively impact the BCH postdoc community.

Public Affairs Committee
The Public Affairs Committee offers an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the narrative of postdoctoral life at the Boston Children's Hospital by promoting awareness, growing engagement, and enhancing the visibility of postdocs. Members work together to develop regular newsletters highlighting postdoc achievements, challenges, and endeavors. The PA committee also manages social media, and serves as an informative hub to keep postdocs informed about news, resources, and opportunities. Members of the Public Affairs Committee play a key role in building an online presence for postdocs, developing writing and communication skills, and contributing to a collaborative team that highlights achievements of postdocs at Boston Children's Hospital.

Academic Advancement (Travel Awards) Committee
The Academic Advancement Committee aims to facilitate opportunities for postdocs to engage with the scientific community. The committee contributes to managing and reviewing the Boston Children's Hospital fellow travel awards, which enable postdocs to present their research at conferences, workshops, and seminars. Members of the Academic Advancement Committee have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in organizing peer review, along with leadership and communication skills, and contribute to the professional development of fellow postdocs.
