Emily Quin

Quin graduated from Wellesley College in the spring of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. At Wellesley, Quin served as a House President, directing a residential hall while fostering community, advocating for residents’ mental health, and supervising a staff of Resident Assistants. Quin also worked as a Direct Care Counselor at The Walker School, teaching art and social communication and providing emotional and educational support to autistic students aged 5-14. Before joining the Faja Lab, Quin worked as a Clinical Research Assistant with the VA and McLean hospitals, studying how fMRI neurofeedback and mindfulness practices can be utilized to reduce auditory hallucinations in adults with schizophrenia. With a passion for mental health advocacy and equity in education, Quin aspires to receive a PhD in Clinical Psychology to continue working with autistic children and their families. When not at work, Quin enjoys crafting, exploring Boston, and reading fantasy novels.

Nasim Sheikhi

Nasim graduated from Northeastern University in the spring of 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience. She was a student intern at the Faja Lab for two years and is so excited to be back full-time! As an undergraduate, Nasim worked at Boston Children’s Hospital’s Lab of Translational Neuroimaging and Northeastern University’s Computational Behavioral Science Lab, where she developed skills in neuroimaging and psychophysiological data analysis. She also worked with children and teens as a camp counselor, math tutor, peer advisor, and youth recreation coach. Nasim’s research interests include child neurodevelopment, social-emotional learning, and co-occurring mental health outcomes with autism. She plans to expand her clinical research experience at the Faja Lab in hopes of pursuing a PhD in child clinical psychology. Outside of work, Nasim enjoys watching movies, taking long walks, and spending time with pets.
