The Cummings Lab focuses broadly on studying important issues in medical ethics and humanism in pediatrics and neonatology and their intersection with medical education, including counseling, communication, and decision-making. Our work uses qualitative, quantitative, and decision science methodologies, grounded in ethical principles and frameworks, along with a parent-centered approach. Ultimately, our mission is to advance the moral, human aspect of medicine for the benefit of patients and their families. We are also passionate about mentorship/career development and dedicated to fostering the next generation of physician-scientist-ethicists.
