Research Overview

Dr. Vitor R. C. Aguiar is a geneticist and computational biologist whose research focuses on uncovering the genetic mechanisms underlying complex traits. His long-term goal is to understand how genetic variants shape human phenotypes. Current projects include the use of B cell models to investigate disease-associate genes, and studies on the genetic basis of lupus.

Research Background

Dr. Aguiar is a Senior Staff Scientist at Boston Children's Hospital and an Instructor at Harvard Medical School. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and his PhD in Biotechnology from the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo in Brazil, followed by postdoctoral training at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
