Research Background

Sukgi S. Choi, M.D. is a graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine (1983). She completed Otolaryngology training at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and Pediatric Otolaryngology training at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She practiced as a pediatric otolaryngologist at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC for over 20 years and spent the last three years as the Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital.

She is currently an Associate in Otolaryngology of the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Enhancement at Boston Children’s Hospital, and a member of the Center for Airway Disorders.

She is the previous Director of the Fellowship Program in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children's National Medical Center, and served as the chair of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education committee responsible for overseeing otolaryngology residency and fellowship training in the United States.

She has played an active role in many professional societies. She was a member of the Executive Committee of the Section on Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery of the American Academy of Pediatrics from 2002-2008. She is a past president of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, and a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Foundation.
