Dr. Neal is interested in the integration of point-of-care ultrasound in the practice of pediatric emergency medicine. He has investigated the use of bedside ultrasonography to enhance procedural success during lumbar puncture as well as the role of ultrasound in the diagnosis of appendicitis.
Dr. Neal is also active in clinical care of patients as well as teaching of pediatric & emergency medicine residents. As a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine's Ultrasound Subdivision, he is actively involved in the teaching of pediatric emergency medicine fellows and faculty through curriculum development and ultrasound credentialing.
