Research Overview

Dr. Henry Feldman is affiliated with the Biostatistics and Research Design (BARD) Center

Dr. Feldman's research activities include study design, data analysis, and statistical consulting; writing and review of grant proposals, protocols, and journal articles; and attendant teaching. At BCH he has conducted long-term research collaborations in obesity, nutrition, gastroenterology, bone health, radiology, hematology, fetal brain imaging, and neonatal clinical care. He leads the Biostatistics Core for a 4-site Program Project on blood-cell deficits and transfusion in newborns.

Research Background

Since 2001 Dr. Feldman has been a senior member of the BCH Biostatistics and Research Design (BARD) Center, collaborating with research faculty in numerous Departments and Divisions including Endocrinology, Adolescent Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Newborn Medicine. At NIH (1969–71), MIT Arteriosclerosis Center (1972–75), Harvard School of Public Health (1976–89), and New England Research Institutes (1990–2001), he conducted innovative work in mathematical methods for radioimmunoassay; lipoprotein kinetics; pulmonary mechanics and cell biology; epidemiology of aging; and community trials for cardiovascular disease prevention. Since 1998 he has been a core faculty member in the annual Ten-Day Seminar on Epidemiology of Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke sponsored by NIH and the American Heart Association. As a result of his work with junior faculty at Harvard Medical School he received the A. Clifford Barger Award for Excellence in Mentoring.
