Research Background

Caroline earned her PhD in Molecular Biomedicine from Bonn University (Germany) in December 2015. During her Ph.D. she analyzed mechanisms governing the lineage barrier between the somatic and extraembryonic lineage. She succeeded in generating fully functional induced trophoblast stem cells from murine fibroblasts. Following her interest in stem cell engineering she joined the Daley lab to work on hematopoietic stem cell differentiation from human induced pluripotent stem cells. Her postdoctoral research is supported by a fellowship from the “Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)”.
