Who should apply

Clinicians, educators, faculty leaders and interested others from various healthcare professions – e.g. physicians, dentists, social workers, advanced practice nurses, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, chaplains, physician assistants, dietitians, and others – are encouraged to apply. We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to and passionate about educating students, trainees, faculty, or others, and who would like to enhance their teaching and leadership skills.

 

Some involvement in teaching/ training students, interns, residents, fellows, other trainees, and/or involvement in precepting, clinical supervision, clinical course /clinical skills teaching, etc. is preferred, though not required.

 

Research Component

As the curriculum is part of a national 4-site project, fellows will participate in evaluation of the curricula by completing several short surveys and narratives and reflecting on their learning over the course of the fellowship.

Requirements

  • We are looking for people who can commit to participating in all or almost all 1½-hour faculty development sessions (i.e., small group learning sessions) about three  times a month (17 sessions)
  • Complete all pre/post program surveys, several short narratives, and 6-month follow up survey

Accreditation

The Emory University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Emory Nursing Professional Development Center (ENPDC) is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Continuing Education Credits

Physicians: The Emory University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 25.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing: Attendees to this activity will be awarded 25.5 contact hours by ENPDC upon completion of the activity evaluation and by participating in 90% of the activity time. 

Certificates will be provided for all upon completing the fellowship.

 

Tuition

Tuition is set at $2000. CME / CE credits are included.  We anticipate most participants will receive support from their departments and/or can utilize conference, departmental, or personal professional development funds.
