Karen Olson is a faculty member of the Division of Emergency Medicine and the Informatics Program at Boston Children's Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She received her PhD from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and completed postdoctoral study in Switzerland and Germany. Currently she specializes in the statistical analysis of large, complex medical data including hospital and public heath databases, health insurance claims, and survey questionnaires. She has particular expertise with electronic health data, surveillance methodology, and longitudinal analysis. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Boston Area SAS Users Group. Prior to joining the Informatics Program, she was the the Child Development Unit at Boston Children's Hospital.
