Alex received her Bachelor of Arts from Kenyon College in molecular biology and graduated in May 2023. During her time there she studied the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor under the mentorship of Dr. Wade Powell and completed a thesis entitled “Antagonism of the Xenopus laevis Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptors.” She also completed a concentration in scientific computing and studied computational methods in genomics. Alex joined Dr. Hla’s lab in July 2023 to investigate the role of S1P in VE-cadherin assembly and blood flow sensing in endothelial cells.
